A waterfront walkway with Dubai’s tall buildings in the background, starting from the Dubai Mall, leads to Souk Al Bahar.
Souk Al Bahar, an extension of the Dubai Mall, is a mini Arab-style souk or marketplace that features antique stores, carpets, and a chocolate shop where we stopped, sampled, and then bought Dubai Chocolate. The complex also has a restaurant, which was where we had lunch for the day.

Dubai Fountain
The waterfront mentioned above is the Burj Khalifa Lake, the site of the Dubai Fountain. A fountain show is scheduled for either 1:00 PM or 1:30 PM on weekdays, and every half hour from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM.
The show features fountain waters that rise to about 50 feet, performing a ‘dance and sway’ to upbeat Arabic music. It is the world’s tallest performing fountain. While some may prefer the fountain show in Las Vegas over this one, the Dubai Fountain show is still impressive and worth watching. The surrounding buildings, including the famous Burj Khalifa, also participate in the show, with lighting effects on them. All in all, this event made for a memorable experience.
