Cascal in Mountain View is a tapas bar that boasts one of the most exquisite interiors in the Bay Area. Its bewitching ambiance and eclectic menu, offering a fusion of Spanish, Latin American, and Caribbean cuisines, make it a great place for dinner and drinks.

We visited Cascal on a warm summer evening. The dishes served included ceviche, empanadas, paella, grilled meats, seafood, and vegetarian options, all crafted with fresh ingredients and vibrant spices.

The restaurant’s name, “Cascal,” is derived from the Spanish word for “bubbling” or “effervescent,” which reflects the lively ambiance and spirit of the establishment.

Our dishes featured bold flavors and innovative combinations. We especially enjoyed the ceviche, empanadas, paella, and other offerings, all made with fresh ingredients and vibrant spices.

We enjoyed the dishes at the bar while sipping a few of the restaurant’s fine cocktails. The restaurant also offers an impressive selection of wines from Spain, Latin America, and beyond.

While the restaurant provides takeout options, I highly recommend dining in for the full experience. Hopefully, my photographs will show you why. For seafood lovers, in particular, I recommend their Peruvian seafood stew and Arroz Negro. If you’re in the Bay Area, go ahead and give this place a try!
