If you’re into golf—or even if you’re just a tyro like me—and live in the southern part of the Bay Area, Garlic Country Golf offers a great option for practicing your tee shots or fairway strokes at a reasonable price.
There are plenty of golf ranges in the Bay Area, but what keeps me coming back to this one is not just the price. The range’s proximity and the availability of its many stalls make it especially convenient.
Unlike more polished venues like Topgolf or Pruneridge Driving Range, Garlic Country Golf is modest in appearance but highly functional, especially for newer golfers like myself. One rule to note is that patrons are asked not to hit over the fence, which is more than 300 yards away—something that, for me, is a rare concern!
The facility was taken over by a new owner about eight years ago, and it’s clear he’s made an effort to renovate the place. While Coyote Creek Golf Course and Driving Range is a fancier option, it doesn’t offer as many stalls and can get crowded. Additionally, some stalls at Garlic Country Range are covered, providing welcome shade during the hot summer months.
Besides the reasonable price for a bucket of balls, the friendly owner also rents out clubs for free. This is a place I plan to visit regularly in the coming weeks. If you love golf and are in the area, I recommend giving it a try!
This version simplifies the phrasing and improves readability while maintaining the original meaning. Let me know what you think!
