If you are in the Bay Area and looking for good Thai (and some good Malay dishes), you cannot go wrong with Oriental Krunthai. The place has decent decor, a sizable dining area, and dishes that pack a flavorful punch. The staff is friendly and resourceful too.

We visited the venue a few days ago and were quite impressed.

The Tom Ka Gai soup was our starter and made a great impression. Filled with lemongrass, mushrooms, and chicken pieces in flavorful coconut milk, it was delicious and had a great consistency.

It had been a long time since I had Malay food. So we ordered the Panang Curry. While it is not the best version of the curry I have tried, I would say that it was above average. The chicken and shrimp Pad Thai was delicious and packed with rich flavor. This Thai rendition of noodle stir fry was served with egg, shrimp, and chicken. It was excellent. I would certainly recommend it.

The prices were also reasonable for the area.

Before going to the restaurant, we decided to walk in Santana Row in San Jose, and enjoy the Holiday spriit. Here are some photos from the walk.
