Tennant and, Murphy Ave, Morgan Hill, CA 95037

One of the highlights of my weekends is the short drive to the Farmer’s Market in Morgan Hill. It’s where I bring home sumptuous Mexican dishes for my family and myself.

Every Saturday, the empty plot at the corner of Tennant Avenue and Murphy Street in Morgan Hill transforms into a bustling Farmer’s Market selling organic fruits, vegetables, and plants. There are also several small eatery booths selling Mexican food.

Among these, my favorite is Ricky’s Grill. This is a truck-kitchen that specializes in preparing delicious and nutritious Mexican food. A family-owned and operated outfit, Ricky’s Grill boasts friendly staff and an excellent selection of dishes.

Displayed on a table are some mouthwatering sauces and salsas, some of them quite fiery. My personal favorite is the brown hot peanut sauce. “My wife has a special recipe that she uses to make the sauce,” Ricky proudly proclaimed to me, and for good reason. During each of my visits, I can’t help but grab a few small containers of it.

Among the dishes, the chicken burritos are particularly outstanding. The meat is well-marinated and simply melts in my mouth. Sometimes I opt for a burrito bowl instead, and the staff generously throws in a delicious complementary taco with it. The birria, a spicy Mexican beef stew, is another one of my favorites.

To wash down the food, there are refreshing options like Jarritos and Mexican Coke. Ricky’s is usually there at the location on both days of the weekend.

Not to mention, the view of the hills of Morgan Hill from the location is simply beautiful. Ricky’s is a well-run and efficient eatery that serves some of the best burritos in the area. Whether you’re a resident of Morgan Hill or just passing through, be sure to pay Ricky’s a visit.
